CATEGORIES 2019

To recognise the ability to influence, motivate and guide a group of people to achieve set goals.
Criteria
For a nomination to be considered, nominees must provide evidence for all the listed criteria.
- Evidence of a building rapport with team members and being empathetic to their concerns.
- Evidence of demonstrating consistency to earn respect and credibility.
- Flexible to new ideas and open-minded enough to consider them. Gives credit/rewards good ideas.
- Evidence of empowering people to achieve their individual and the team’s goals.
- Demonstrates a strong vision and the willingness to see it through. Believes in the mission and works toward it to inspire their followers.
- Encourages people to learn from their mistakes rather than criticise.
- Communicates effectively to help keep the team working on the right projects with the right attitude.

To recognise the effectiveness of a team to overcome differences and work together towards a common goal.
Criteria
For a nomination to be considered, nominees must provide evidence for all the listed criteria.
- Evidence of clear direction with agreed team goals and desired outcomes.
- Evidence of open and honest communication to build camaraderie between team members.
Evidence of playing to team members’ strengths. There is understanding of the skill sets and behavioural styles that are needed in the team. - Demonstrates individual and collective responsibility. Team members don’t blame one another for team mistakes and failures.
Evidence of celebrating successes together and recognising special performances and contributions. - Evidence of members placing the common goal above individual interests.
- Evidence of encouraging diversity and inclusion to promote creative thinking.

To recognise the extent to which an individual has influenced the capabilities and effectiveness of an organisation’s bid and proposal capability and/or the people involved in bid development.
Criteria
For a nomination to be considered, nominees must provide evidence for all the listed criteria.
- Evidence of mentoring people to foster an effective bid and proposal capability.
- Demonstrates thought leadership in promoting and advancing the profession within their organisation.
- Evidence of challenging perceived industry norms and implemented new approaches which have delivered successes.
- Evidence of implementing a bid and proposal vision for the organisation, mapping a clear path for its future and engaging the bid team to deliver this effectively.
- Quantitative or qualitative business results have been achieved as a direct result of the individual's impact in developing skills and best practices.

Working on a specific live deal (within the last two years), to recognise outstanding achievement in a vendor organisation (i.e. not a consulting or software or methodology company).
Criteria
Nominees should provide evidence for all the listed criteria. If a nominee fails to provide evidence for more than two listed criteria, the nomination will be discounted.
- Individual Nominee, or all members of the nominated team, must be accredited at APMP Foundation, as a minimum.
- Qualitative improvement results.
- Quantitative improvement results.
- Key stakeholder sponsorship and support has been sought and achieved.
- Evidence that bid excellence is embedded in team / division / organisation.
- Plan to maintain and extend excellence over the next 12 months.

To recognise somebody new to the bid and proposal profession who has made a significant impact within the past 12 months.
Criteria
- Nominees should provide evidence for all the listed criteria. If a nominee fails to provide evidence for more than two listed criteria, the nomination will be discounted.
- Has a maximum of 18 months working in a proposals environment. [Pass/Fail]
- Has achieved APMP Foundation Level Accreditation and has actively sought to learn about bid and proposal management best practice.
- Has brought forward fresh ideas and helped to deliver improvements to bid / proposal development efficiency / effectiveness in accordance with APMP best practices.
- Has consistently delivered work of the highest standard and ideally has quantitative results to show the improvement achieved.
- Has inspired others around them to grow and develop their capabilities.
- Has received excellent feedback, internally and externally.

To recognise the implementation and use of knowledge management and its impact on an organisation’s bid and proposal capability. Fiona Flower was a staunch supporter of the APMP UK until her untimely death in 2012. With the support of her family, we instigated this award in her memory and to recognise her own pioneering work in the field of knowledge management.
Criteria
For a nomination to be considered, nominees must provide evidence for all the listed criteria.
- Evidence that the knowledge management Storage structure is indexed in a logical manner that is easy (and intuitive) to navigate.
- Evidence that the knowledge management system contains an extensive range of knowledge that can be used adaptively for different types of bids.
- Evidence that there has been a Communication Strategy deployed to inform and educate a wider audience of the availability and usability of the system.
- Evidence that the knowledge management system contains a balance of written content and graphics.
- Evidence that the knowledge management content is regularly maintained.
- Quantitative or qualitative evidence that the knowledge management system has improved bid process efficiency.
- Evidence that the Knowledge Management system has been adopted as best practice within the organisation.

To recognise a commitment to improve the personal development and capability of people involved in bids and proposals.
Criteria
For a nomination to be considered, nominees must provide evidence for all the listed criteria.
- Development of people within team / organisation has been active and consistent during the last 12 months.
- APMP certification has formed part of people development in the last 12 months.
- Quantitative or qualitative business results have been achieved as a direct result of the development of more skills and best practice.
People development has key stakeholder involvement. - Has a clear plan in place for all involved in bids / proposals, having analysed their respective development needs to continue to develop people over the next 12 months.
- Has received excellent feedback on training / development activities.
ENTRY CRITERIA
Entering is simple.
You can either nominate yourself, someone else, or a team.
Nominees must be members of APMP UK. Proof of membership (either individual or corporate) will be required in the form of each nominee’s membership number.
You may submit multiple entries, but you may only nominate the same individual or team once per category.
You can start your nomination and return to it as often as you like before submitting. Nominations submitted after the deadline will not be considered.
To preserve confidentiality, you may anonymise references that identify companies, organisations, programmes or individuals.
Entries are limited to 1,200 words. No attachments or supporting documentation are permitted.

Scoring is as follows: Full evidence = 9, Fairly comprehensive evidence = 7, Moderate evidence = 5, Partial evidence = 3, Very little evidence = 1, No evidence = 0.
